Sixth round of series of “Training of Trainers” (ToT) workshops on interactive teaching, modern training and learning methods was organized during 2 – 6 December 2019 in the International University for the Humanities and Development (IUHD). The workshop was conducted by the European Union (EU) funded project “Support for Public Administration Capacity Building in Turkmenistan” with participation of the project international expert Mr. Klemen Belhar.
Training was organized in cooperation with the Academy of Civil Service under the President of Turkmenistan (AoCS) upon the request of the teaching staff of the IUHD to share best practices in interactive teaching. Participants of the workshop were the teaching staff the IUHD.
During the five-day ToT wopkshop Mr. Belhar explained about the training objectives, interactive teaching as well as learning methods and conducted exercises in Bloom’s taxonomy. Participants of the event learned to set SMART objectives, difference between teaching and training principles, guided to improve presentation skills through learning from own mistakes. Trainer shared the international practices in flipped classrooms, blended learning methods and case study methods. Each day of the workshop was replete with individual as well as group activities, practical works and tasks.
Participants shared with the expert their impressive fillings on the learned innovations and they rated the ToT workshop level very highly. The project team welcomed the suggestions and ideas on organization of more trainings and workshops for the IUHD. After the ToT workshop, participants were awarded with the certificate of participation.
The event contributed to achievement of the project objective aimed at strengthening the capacities of the training institutions to provide demand-driven training.
