WORKSHOP ON DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION OF DISTANCE LEARNING PROGRAMS FOR CIVIL SERVANTS IN NEW CONDITIONS: THE EXPERIENCE OF THE REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN

The EU funded project “Support for Public Administration and Capacity building in Turkmenistan” organized a workshop, connecting two partner institutions: The Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan (APA) and the Academy of Civil Service under the President of Turkmenistan (AoCS), online. The workshop was designed for the lecturers and management of AoCS and organized in the premises of AoCS.

The aim of the workshop was to share the best practices of APA in implementation of distance learning programs for Civil Servants in new conditions and facilitate the strategic implementation of the Master’s degree program in Public Administration (MPA) in AoCS.

International expert of the project Mr. Yerlan Abil with his colleagues from the Kazakh academy presented to the AoCS lecturers the programs and admission process in APA, activities of the Center for Educational Policy, Center for Applied Research and international partnership as well as activities of the Information Resource Center.

Mr. Abil shared with the AoCS staff the experience of the Kazakh academy in implementation of the online platforms, Moodle, guided the AoCS lecturers how to start the online teaching programs and pointed out the important steps to follow in order to avoid the malfunctions.

Participants of the workshop discussed the online admission processes, online libraries, electronic resources and research activities of the Kazakh Academy and Erasmus+ opportunities. The workshop was concluded with the mutual willingness of both partner institutions for collaboration in the implementation of the MPA program in AoCS in the new conditions.
