The EU funded project “Support for Public Administration Capacity Building in Turkmenistan” organized the next round of the workshops on Human Resource Management and Development with online participation of the project international expert Mr. Harry List. The workshop was intended to facilitate the professional development of the HR Staff of State Bodies and Local Governments of Mary, Lebap, Dashoguz and Balkan Velayats. More than twenty participants from each Velayat connected online to the workshop from their local conference halls.
The project senior expert Mr. Harry List presented the most important and trending topics in HRM field. The presentation covered the topics on history, development of HR concepts and practices, roles and responsibilities of HR department and managing staff, strategic workforce planning, recruitment and selection, training cycle, managing competences, health and safety at the working place and performance management.
The topics about assessment centers, competence management, training and development raised more interest among the participants. The workshop continued with active discussions on the presented topics and with comparison of the HR practices of Europe and Turkmenistan.
In conclusion, the participants expressed their appreciation to the expert, AoCS and the project team for the informative presentation and effective workshop. They stressed the importance of this workshop which introduced the best international practices and many new points applied in HRM.
The workshop contributed to the achievement of the project results related to training at least 100 civil servants from personnel management and other relevant departments of state bodies and local governments in human resource management and human resource development issues.
