Ashgabat, 28 May 2020. The first online introductory training session on Cyber4security took place in the meeting hall of the Academy of Civil Service under the President of Turkmenistan (AoCS). The training session was organized by the European Union-funded project “Support for Public Administration Capacity Building in Turkmenistan” upon the request of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan. The aim of the requested event was to enhance the competencies of the information technology personnel in civil service.
More than twenty IT specialists – representatives of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, Oguz Han Engineering and Technology University of Turkmenistan, Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population of Turkmenistan, Central Bank of Turkmenistan, Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan, Ministry of Industry and Communication of Turkmenistan, State Committee on Statistics of Turkmenistan and the Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics of Turkmenistan participated in the event.
Mr. Margus Mägi, the Smart Government Adviser at DAI Human Dynamics made an introductory presentation. He spoke about Cybersecurity in Estonia and highlighted the importance of Cybersecurity coordination by showing some examples.
Then Mr. Mägi introduced the agenda of the next training in Cyber4security, which will comprise 4 sessions. These sessions will be on technical topics of cybersecurity and cover some practical aspects of cybersecurity in the setting of a public sector organization in an ever-changing global landscape. Mr. Mägi also announced on the online test for the evaluation of the knowledge of the trainees.
Preliminary dates for the next sessions of the training on Cybersecurity were announced as: the first part on 15-16 June 2020 and the second part on 22-23 June 2020.
In the conclusion of the introductory training session, participants filled out the questionnaires. The filled data in the questionnaire will help the trainers to evaluate the knowledge of the future trainees and develop accordingly the most suitable target group-oriented training programs.
