The EU funded project “Support for Public Administration Capacity Building in Turkmenistan” conducted a workshop on Elaboration of a Module Factsheet within the framework of the activities promoting the development and implementation of the Master’s degree program in Public Administration (MPA). The workshop was organized in the conference hall of the Academy of Civil Service under the President of Turkmenistan (AoCS) with online participation and supervision of the project international expert Dr. Klaus Erdmann.
A series of MPA workshops devoted to presentation and discussion of the Module Handbook were organized to facilitate the task of the AoCS teaching staff in application of modern methods of development of training programs. The teaching staff of the AoCS took active part in every session of the workshops and practiced in drafting new modules.
The workshop started with discussion of the task assigned to the participants by Dr. Klaus Erdmann in the previous workshop. The assignment of the participants was about appropriate completion of the Module Factsheet with the suitable and related information. The workshop participant Ms. Jamilia Hommayeva presented her draft Module Factsheet and shared with the expert the difficulties she faced during completion of the factsheet. Dr. Erdmann carefully listened the questions and comments of all participants and answered to them giving concrete examples in details. In this regard participants shared with the expert their practices, spoke about planned teaching methods and clarified their doubts.
The Module Handbook is considered as a sample for developing international standard module structure and it consists of detailed description of the sequence to guide the lecturers in development of a module. While presentation of the Module Handbook Dr. Klaus Erdmann explained each new paragraph, made advices and gave detailed instructions on the assigned task. At the end of the workshop, Dr. Klaus Erdmann briefly spoke about the future collaboration of German universities with the Academy and suggested to discuss it in details in the upcoming MPA workshops.
