Ashgabat, 15 May 2019 – Fourth round of the series of workshops aimed at Training of Trainers (ToT) in Modern Training Methodologies took place during 13-15 May 2019 in Gala Cultural Center. This workshop was organized within the framework of the EU funded project “Support for Public Administration Capacity Building in Turkmenistan” with participation of the Project Senior Expert, Mr. Klemen Belhar.
Participants of the workshop were teaching staff of the Academy of Civil Service under the President of Turkmenistan (AoSC) and representatives of other stakeholders like Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan, Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population of Turkmenistan, the Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The objective of the workshop was to work on identified needs and objectives for a train the trainer methodology and illustrate a target group oriented training technique by an example.
The 3-days workshop consisted of 3 sessions. In the first day, Mr. Klemen Belhar presented types of negotiations and negotiations in different occasions. Practical exercise helped more deeply explore negotiation skills of the participants. They learned to organize and prepare the negotiation, build relationships and manage a situation.
In the second day of the ToT workshop Mr. Belhar spoke about Effectiveness and efficiency: understanding differences and similarities. He presented very interesting topics from his personal experiences, allowed to share experiences of the participants. No participant left unattendent. Day was concluded with questions and answers.
The third final session was about implementing principles of effectiveness and efficiency in the organizations: public administration, education, enterprises, as well as effectiveness and efficiency as a managerial tool. Then Mr. Belhar engaged participants in experimental exercise. Main purpose of the exercise was to work in-group, first with a leader – “boss” and without a leader – “boss”. Participants and the trainer discussed the outcomes of the experiment.
Mr. Belhar’s ToT workshops develop teachers’ training skills through various new approaches, which at the same time increase trainees’ willingness to conduct relevant trainings in their respective institutions. Participants promised to use Mr. Belhar’s advices and tricks in their professional life and they hoped to attend next rounds of the ToT workshops guided by Mr. Klemen Belhar. These mutual efforts of the trainer and future trainers build a strong base for ensuring the sustainability of further activities in the field of capacity building of civil servants in Turkmenistan.
